Mammut introduces two new rock shoe designs

The Bouldozer and the Velvet are two new rock shoe models from Mammut. The Bouldozer for the experienced climber and boulderer has an asymmetrical, pre-tensioned shape that fits like a second skin due to versatile Velcro closures. Velcro bands are crossed over shoelace style, and an additional band can be drawn over the instep for a perfect fit. A sticky rubber "exoskeleton" adds form and support to the shoe, with a generous allowance of rubber on both the toe box and heel enabling precise and secure heel and toe hooks. There is also an anatomically shaped midsole in the toebox, which reinforces the shoe in the area critical for solid edging.

The Velvet is an ultra comfortable blend of a classic mountain boot and a modern rock shoe, designed to meet the needs of bigwall climbers, guides and mountain training. This ankle high, light mountain boot has a foam inner liner and a hand-made leather upper. It is also a real rock shoe, incorporating Mammut’s own SF64 rubber. The narrow toe profile allows edging and jamming whilst the heel features a special sole profile to give excellent stability in descent. An insert made of a cotton-epoxy mixture provides torsional stiffness for further stability.
