Deckers Outdoor Corporation has said it is to treat its ‘Teva’ range of athletic sandals with a silver-based antimicrobial compound, specially formulated to protect against odour-causing bacteria.

Produced by Agion Technologies in conjunction with Starensier, an international textile manufacturer, the compound is said to be effective against a broad range of bacteria, mould and mildew. It is also claimed to be environmentally friendly, as the reactions set up by the compound are completely natural.
