TFL announces forecast for leather fashion

20/08/2001

Neutral blues and greens will be the colours for leather in the spring/summer season 2003, according to leather chemicals producer TFL (Together For Leather). The company gives its forecast of fashion colour twice a year, in February and August, with information designed to help the leather industry plan for its next two seasons. The internet update for the new colours will take place on 1 September.

The colour preferences for leather fashion are divided into three categories: "classic", "sport" and "elegant". For the "classic" sector, TFL says that blue "in all of its shades will be important for summer 2003." For "sport", blue is also important, along with green and "the decorative richness of strong colours such as acid-green, sky-blue and gold." The "elegant" category remains the most enigmatic, however, with colours in 2002/2003 likely to be "powdery yet decisive in their fullness."
