Dutch leather sales down in June
According to the Netherlands’s national statistics office, leather, textiles and clothing were the only industrial sectors not to increase their turnover during June 2001 compared with the year before.
Overall, Dutch industrial turnover was 3% higher in June 2001, compared with the same month of 2000, while sale prices were 4% higher. The increase in industrial output during the first six months of the year was also smaller than that of the year-before period. No specific figures relating to the leather, textiles and clothing sectors were obtainable at the time of going to press.
