Italian footwear brand’s sales up by 26% in first half 2001

Tod's, the Italian footwear group, has announced a 26.7 per cent increase in consolidated turnover to 146.3 million euros ($130 million) in the first half of 2001.
Footwear sales climbed 23.3 per cent at 116.1 million euros and
leather goods by 62.4 per cent to 19.4 million euros. Sales rose by 19.9 per cent in Italy, by 14.6 per cent in the rest of Europe and by 75 per cent in the US. In a separate development, it was announced last week that the investment house Fineco Capital had acquired 40 per cent of the Parma-based leather goods manufacturer and distributor, Coccinelle.
