World Bank may loan Ukraine $100 million for agriculture corporation
The World Bank could allocate $100 million to Ukraine in 2002 to create an agriculture finance corporation, Finance Minister Ihor Mityukov said at a press briefing last week.
The corporation's main tasks would be to raise mid and long-term loans for the agricultural industry to finance the purchase of machinery and equipment. Such a corporation is needed owing to the liquidation of the Ukraina Bank, which specialised in financing the agrarian sector, the minister said.
