Quality award for Brazilian leather chemicals producer
The Brazilian leather chemicals producer MK Quimica do Brasil is one of several of companies in the estate of Rio Grande do Sul that have been granted the Troféu Ouro do Prêmio Qualidade RS, (Golden Trophy of Top Quality).
Awarded by the Programa Gaúcho da Qualidade e Produtividade – PGQP (Gaucho Program of Quality and Productivity), the annual award recognises the quality of manufacturing organisations in the state, with the Gold Trophy being limited to just six businesses.
With annual sales of around R$20 million (US$8 million), MK Química do Brasil was the recipient of the Bronze Trophy in 1998 and 1999 and the silver trophy last year. Based in Portao/RS, the company exports approximately 20% of its output, equating to 186 tons of chemical products per month.
