The weak local currency in Brazil means beef exporters are registering much higher revenues compared to those that sell domestically. According to consulting firm FNP Consultoria exporters receive R$55 (US$22) per 15-kilo ´arroba´, or some 53% more than the price of R$36 for ´arroba´ of beef on the local market.
