African trade fair generates $28 million in trade enquiries
The Tanzanian government has said that this year’s Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITR), held July 1 – 9, generated trade enquiries worth an estimated $28.6 million.
Closing the annual trade event on Monday evening, at which a number of leather businesses were represented, Deputy Minister for Industry and Commerce Anthony Diallo said export inquiries received were worth $11.34 million.
The deputy minister said more visitors and exhibitors had attended this year than in 2000. The fair is one of the most popular trade events in the eastern and southern African region.
