Brazil’s CTCCA on course for SATRA certification
Brazil’s Technology Centre for the Leather, Shoe and Allied Trades (CTCCA) of Novo Hamburgo/RS, Brazil, has said it expects to achieve accreditation as a licensed SATRA testing laboratory by the end of the year.
In doing so, the organisation will become the first ever shoe and leather laboratory to be licensed to issue SATRA certification, outside of SATRA itself. As part of the accreditation process, SATRA technicians are currently studying CCTA’s testing facilities and auditing its procedures.
Martinho Fleck, president of CTCCA said: "So far, SATRA certification has been issued only in England. Therefore, the accreditation of CTCCA by SATRA will be a very important step for our organisation as it will qualify our work and provide a better reference for our procedures. SATRA is an important reference in terms of leather and shoe standards worldwide and the certification will help CTCCA align itself with the most respected organisation in this field".
