Vietnam exports up 14.8% in first half 2001

According to Vietnam’s General Statistics Office last week, materials for the leather, garment and textile industries accounted for $847 million of Vietnam’s total exports in the first half of 2001.
The country’s total exports amounted to $7.585 billion – a 14.8% increase year on year, though output of manufactured goods also dropped during the reviewed period.
