The first presentation of the new Le Cuir à Paris show takes place October 5-7 at Porte de Versailles. Launched by SIC, it wishes to position itself as a new business tool targeted at the fashion, design and luxury end of the leather sector.

Claiming to be non-competitive with other existing exhibitions, by mid-June the organisers had reserved stands for some 140 companies, principally top end tanners from France, Italy and Spain. It will encompass producers of exotic skins as well as furs. Upholstery tanners are also listed. The new event means the end of the twice yearly PMF show which has handed over its interests to Le Cuir à Paris.
