Czech Republic eases Foot and Mouth Disease import controls
The Czech Republic’s Agriculture Minister Jan Fencl last week lifted the country's ban on the imports of cattle and cattle products from other European countries where there has been no incidence of foot and mouth disease.
However the ban still applies to those countries where outbreaks occurred earlier in the year; namely Great Britain, France, Ireland and the Netherlands. The Czech Republic last eased protection against the disease on June 1, when it stopped disinfection of passengers arriving from Great Britain at airports.
