Big increases reported in Kazakh shoe and leather output

Kazakhstan’s statistics office has published figures for January – May 2001.
Compared with the same period last year, total industrial output climbed by 11,6%, with leather and shoe output increasing by a massive 480%. Other big increases were noted in the production of machinery (up 40%) and chemicals (up 60%).
