New investment for Czech footwear producer
The Czech footwear producer, Gabor Slovensko revealed last week that it is to invest more than 5 million Slovak Crowns ($101,000) on upgrading its production facilities.
A subsidiary of the German footwear conglomerate Gabor AG, the company says it intends to spend the money on new plant and equipment at its Liptovsky Mikulas factory, with the creation of around 600 new jobs.
When the new facilities are commissioned at the end of 2001, production will increase from the current level of 2,500 pairs per day to around 4,500 pairs, the company says.
