Lorenzo Vila, president of BASF Curtex S.A., died on June 8 shortly after reaching the age of 56.

In 1964 he started at BASF Espanola in Tarragona. After several stages as a laboratory assistant, technician and head of sales he took over the management of BASF Curtex in L´Hospitalet in 1990; from 1997 onwards he was also the manager of BASF Curtumes e Texteis Lda. in Porto, Portugal. From June 1998 he was additionally responsible for Business Management Leather in Europe.

BASF says that with the passing of Lorenzo Vila, it has lost a dedicated head and a gentleman, who led with determination and vision.
