Pakistan leather and leather goods exports both up
Other than textiles, the leather and leather goods, chemicals and pharmaceutical sectors were the only domains to achieve significant growth during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Statistics has reported.
During the period, the country’s combined exports of leather and leather products climbed 25% year-on-year to $573.82 million. Leather exports increased to $201.37 million - up 30% on the $154.138 million recorded during the corresponding period the year before. Exports of leather products surged 22.5% from $303.782 million to £372.78 million dollars. By comparison, chemical and pharmaceutical exports registered an increase of 59% to $140.533 million during the period under view.
