Argentine hide and leather export prices up 8.9% in Q1 2001

According to Argentina’s national statistics institute INDEC, the average export price of hides and leather increased by 8.9 pct during the first quarter of 2001. Washed wool prices were up 12.8 pct.

The export of price of all primary products increased during the year, with primary produce prices climbing by 2.2%, cereal prices increasing by 9.7% and chemicals increasing by 2.4%. Import prices fell in all sectors – the biggest decline being recorded in fuels and lubricants, which were down 31% year-on-year.
