Italian consumer leather goods prices up 5.8% in April

Figures released by Italy’s official statistics office ISTAT show a 5.8% year-on-year increase in the consumer price of leather and leather goods during April. This was against a background 2.6% year-on-year increase in the price of consumer goods.

By comparison, the cost of electricity, gas and water jumped 20.1% during the month. Other big increases recorded in oil derivatives (up 2.4% month-on-month) and minerals (up 6.15% year –on-year).
