Taiwanese leather producers declare first four month results

The Taiwanese leather and printing products manufacturer Union Leather has recorded pre-tax profits of T$37.7m ($1.1 million) for the first four months of 2001 - up 18.7 per cent year-on-year. Pre-tax earnings per share (EPS) were T$0.9. Another Taiwanese leather products manufacturer, San Fang Chemical Industry Co Ltd, has reported pre-tax profits of T$57.3m, 38.2 per cent of the full-year target. Pre-tax EPS stood at T$0.3, and operating profits reached T$113.8m.
