Dhaka-based Bangladesh Shilpa Bank has issued a tender for the sale the land, building and machinery of the exported oriented shoe manufacturing unit-M/s Comfort Footwear Ltd. The facilities are being sold to recover dues and loans of Taka 62 million ($1.1 million) plus additional interest, according to a bank notification.

The footwear unit reportedly has production capacity of 300,000 pair of shoes per annum and is located at Saver in Dhaka.

The bank has asked bidders to send their offers by 7th June 2001. Successful bidders will be required to deposit 50% of the bid within seven days, and the balance within 3 days.
