Pakistan leather and leather goods exports both up

According to statistics released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics last week, the country earned $516 million in export of finished leather and leather manufacturing during the first 10 months of current financial year (July-April, 2000-2001).  This compares with $412 million earned in corresponding period last year.
Of the total figure, $174 million was earned by finished leather exports and $341.768 million of leather manufacturing. The same figures for last year were $135.5 million and $276.5 million respectively.

In April 2001 alone, Pakistan exported $18.5 million worth of finished leather and $17.9 million of leather manufacturing. The same figures for March were $17.6 million and $23.9 million respectively.
