The official statistica agency of Kazakhstan has announced that between January and March 2001, the GNP (Gross National Product) of the country increased by 10% year-on-year.

Industrial output also increased by 9.8%, with an unprecedented increase of 456.5% being noted in production of leather, leather goods and footwear.
