The opportunities presented to Italian investors by the Uzbek leather industry were high on the agenda during a visit by a trade delegation to Milan earlier this month.

Led by Foreign Economic Relations Minister Elyor Ghaniyev, the party addressed a number of business groups during their stay, which was aimed at promoting bilateral trade and emphasising the attractiveness of Uzbekistan as a production base for Italian manufacturers. The leather trade was one of several highlighted. Others included the silk, food, fruit and construction materials sectors.
