Leather product blazes sales trail for US fire retardancy specialist
In its statement for the first quarter of the current financial year, Houston-based Flame Seal said last week that sales into leather tanneries of ‘Leather Seal’ – a fire retardant product for leather aircraft seats – had helped propel the company into profitability for the first time in its six-year history.
Combined sales of all Flame Seal products increased 257% year-on-year in the first quarter, with the bulk of the remainder being accounted for by its X-100 product, which is used for the fire protection of mass transit seats.
