Clothing and footwear to be showcased together at `plw - leather and more`
Leather trends for the Spring/Summer 2002 season will be unveiled to the trade at the 'plw - leather and more' trade fair, which will be held April 24 –25, 2001 in Pirmasens, Germany.
The organisers of the event, the trade fair and events company Messe- und Veranstaltungsgesellschaft Pirmasens, say 11 new exhibitors will be represented at the event – the 62nd in the series - and that more than 270 collections will be on display.
"The broad range of exhibitors from the supplier industry to the footwear industry, coupled with the international designers and the first fashion show to show clothing and footwear on the catwalk together, offers the ideal platform for filtering out the early trends", says Elke Tronche, managing director of Messe und Veranstaltungsgesellschaft Pirmasens.
The organisers have engaged trends researcher Els Blaauboer, Laren/Netherlands, to make a presentation called "Trends among young people", which is being sponsored by the Pirmasens-based firms Colortex, Loreth and Stockmayer as well as the Skins/Leather Trade Association (WHL), Backnang. The Footwear Fashion Committee DSIMS, Offenbach, will also use trend models of well-known designers to present "Fashion Trends", the first fashion show in Europe to feature clothing and footwear together on the catwalk.
On the second day, Dr. Markus Scherer, head of the Physical Testing Laboratory of the Test and Research Institute Pirmasens (PFI) will talk about interesting developments in the area of protective working shoes, testing standards and requirements.
