US leather goods producer bought by business development specialist

09/04/2001

The high-end leather manufacturer, Comme Toujours of Miami, Florida, is to be acquired by a US business development organisation, DCGR International Holdings, which intends to develop the brand further.

Under the acquisition proposal, Michael Shaer, President of Comme Toujours, who has 35 years' experience in the leather manufacturing business, will continue as President of the company. Formed only 18 months ago, Comme Toujours Inc. has two divisions.

The first operates a domestic manufacturing operation in Florida, serving upmarket stores where orders can be custom manufactured from very fine Italian tanned leather, and delivered in two to three weeks. The other division caters to lower-priced, higher-volume leather apparel, which are manufactured overseas. Mr. Shaer projected that the company's 2001 revenues should approach $2,500,000 and $10,000,000 by the end of 2004.
