Ukrainian leather and footwear output surges in February 2001

According to statistics published last week by the Ukrainian government, one of the biggest increases in industrial output during February 2001 was recorded by the leather and footwear sector.
Compared to February 2000, output rose by 29.7%, while the production of textiles, furs and garments was up by an even greater 32.1%. Ukrainian industrial production as a whole increased 12.6% year on year during the month.
