Tunisia’s President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali was in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye last week, to discuss the strengthening of bilateral trade ties between the two countries, officials said in Tunis.

Together with phosphates and industrial products such as electrical wires, hides and skins account for a high proportion of Tunisia’s exports to Türkiye, which last year totalled 76 million Tunisian dinars (around 62 million euro). The two countries have some 30 trade-related agreements in force.
