Speculation on future ownership of Kolosus

01/04/2001
The South African agricultural combine Senwes, has announced that it is to shed non-core assets over the next two years, leading to speculation that its leather and hide exporter Kolosus, might be sold.

Japie Grobler, the chairman of Senwes chairman, has declined to name the companies involved, but said assets "like animal feed, poultry and oil presses" would be disposed of. The company says restructuring will allow it to focus on its core activities of grain storage and handling, trade and financing.
