Kazakhstan leather trade buoyant in 2000

According to the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, the leather sector last year increased its output by 28.7%. This compares favourably with the 14.6% increase recorded by the manufacturing sector as a whole. In January 2001, leather industry production increased 360% on the same figure for January 2000.
