Brungraber named as ASTM award recipient
Robert J. Brungraber, owner and president of the U.S. company Slip-Test Inc. has been named a recipient of the Charles H. Irvine Memorial Award for his contributions to ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) Committee F13, covering the safety and traction of footwear.
The award is dedicated to the memory of Irvine, the first F13 chairman and a leader in developing standards to promote workplace safety, reduce slip and fall accidents, and to further the science of floor and shoe sole slipperiness.
An ASTM member since 1976, Brungraber participates on several ASTM subcommittees and, in his current work, concentrates on the slip resistance of footwear and walkway surfaces. ASTM is one of the largest voluntary standards organisations in the world.
