SATRA validation for Permair Leather testing facility
Following an audit by SATRA Quality Assurance Limited, Porvair International Limited has been awarded the top rating of Category ‘A’ for its Quality Assurance (QA) Laboratory at Kings Lynn in the United Kingdom, which tests Permair, the performance leather finishing system.
SATRA has also renewed its annual Quality Mark Certificates for all three core Permair technologies: Permair Standard – an advanced finishing system for leather; Permair Protector, an advanced dry finishing system for leather required to meet safety footwear standard BSEN344:1992; and Permair Prestige, an advanced dry finishing system for leathers providing scuff resistance.
"Permair is the only performance leather finish – and the only shoe upper component – to be awarded the SATRA Quality Mark. These Quality Mark Certificates are particularly important to us as they recognise the most exacting standards in footwear materials," said Colin Wade, business manager of Porvair International’s Footwear and Leather Division. "We are delighted to have Permair leather and our QA Laboratory recognised in this way by an organisation such as SATRA."
Commenting on the Permair audit, Richard Turner, Deputy Chief Executive of SATRA said: "SATRA Quality Mark is recognised worldwide as the premier award for many materials used in a range of consumer products from footwear to furniture. To get the Quality Mark, companies must show a real commitment to ongoing quality assurance of their product. This, Porvair has done, and we are sure this approach will bear fruit."
