Profits down at Tod’s

The Italian shoemaker Tod's reported last week net profits of 36.2 billion lire ($16.6m) for the year 2000, as opposed to L40.9 billion in 1999. Year-on-year, group turnover climbed 14.5% t to 487 billion lire.
The company attributed the drop in profits to the cost entailed by its listing on the Milan bourse (stock exchange) last year.
