New Brazilian leather colour collection unveiled

19/03/2001

On February 21 2001, ABECA, the Fashion Committee of the Brazilian Association of Footwear Designers, unveiled its 2002 Spring/Summer Leather Colour Collection at the FENAC Event Centre, in Novo Hamburgo/RS.

The collection is the result of extensive research and collaboration between Brazil's leather component and pigment suppliers, and is aimed at predicting the colours that will be in vogue during the season.

Both the early launch of the ABECA Leather Colour Collection and the Courovisao Pre-Selection Show have the same purpose. "The collection will enable suppliers involved in the leather and shoe production chain to showcase, in advance, the products designers and stylists will be looking for in order to produce their own collections for the coming season," explains Aldo Pospichil, president of ABECA.

The Leather Colour Collection is presented in a special folder containing leather samples of every colour, and is the result of the joint effort of the trade associations and companies working in the leather, shoe and allied sectors.

Five thousand folders containing the Leather Colour Collection are currently being distributed to stylists, designers, product development professionals and company directors within the industry.
