Brazilian shoes find favour in the US

American importers bought 69.75% of all shoes exported by Brazil in 2000, that is over 99 million pairs worth US$ 1,078 billion.

In a distant second placing was Argentina, which bought 7.98% of all Brazilian shoes exported, that is, 18.9 million pairs worth a total of US$ 123.7 million.

Brazil’s third largest importer of footwear in 2000 was the UK, which accounted for 6.9 million pairs worth US$100 million. The European country also paid the highest prices per pair of shoes from Brazil, paying US$ 14,50 on average. In fourth place was Canada, accounting for 2.17% of the total exported, or 3.4 million pairs worth US$ 33.5 million
