Pakistan leather exports up 28% in first half 2000/01

Pakistan exported $295 million worth of leather manufactures during July-February 2001, compared with $230 million for the same period during the previous financial year. This represents a growth level of 28% in terms of dollar value, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics sources.

In January alone, the country exported finished leather and leather goods worth $30 million, and $25 million during February 2001.
