The organisers of MICAM Shoevent, held in Milan, Italy, have reported a total attendance of 31,000 at last week’s event – 5.1% up on the previous year’s show, held in Bologna.

‘Foreign’ visitor levels were also up, by 14.9% to 9100, though the increase in Italian visitor levels was a much more modest 1.5%.

The eleventh MICAM award for design was presented to Piero Grabrielli, of Gabrielli Junior of Italy  and Akio Konoike, of Futayaba Shoe of Japan.
