John R. Hoke III will join the board of directors at furniture brand Herman Miller at the next quarterly meeting of the board on September 26 and 27, 2005.

Hoke is vice president of global footwear design for Nike.

He joined Nike in 1993 after working for four years with the architect and designer Michael Graves while earning his master's degree in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
