Sri Lanka leather exports fall in 2004

Sri Lanka’s exports of leather and leather products fell by 22.66% in 2004 compared with the figures recorded in 2003.  Exports totalled $29.45 million, down from $37.12 million a year earlier (January-December), according to data released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan footwear sector also recorded a fall of 37.78% to $12.88 million in 2004 from $20.7 million in 2003.
