H1 China leather-sector exports down, imports up

Figures from the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) show that the industry there registered exports with a value of $40.9 billion in the first half of 2026. 

This represents a fall of 5.4% compared to the same months in 2025. 

However, the value of leather-sector imports into China, with a value of $7.9 billion, increased by 4.9% year on year.
