Boardroom change for Birkenstock as Arnault bows out
Footwear brand Birkenstock has announced that Alexandre Arnault has stepped down from his position on its board of directors with immediate effect, owing to professional commitments.
Mr Arnault, a member of the family that controls luxury group LVMH, is the executive director of Tiffany, in which LVMH acquired a majority stake in 2021. He had been a member of the Birkenstock board for five years.
On announcing its search for a new board member to replace him, Birkenstock’s chairman, Michael Chu, said: “Alexandre Arnault was an exceptionally valuable member of our board. Since he is a true brand lover, I strongly believe he will remain closely connected to our brand and continue to follow its further development closely.”
