Lear reports growth in automotive seating business

Automotive components supplier Lear Corporation, owner of US-based tannery Eagle Ottawa has reported second-quarter 2026 sales of $6.2 billion, up 3% year-on-year, supported by growth across its Seating and E-Systems businesses.

The US-based automotive supplier said its Seating division secured several new programme awards during the quarter, including complete seat programmes with Audi and Leapmotor, as well as further growth with Chinese automotive manufacturers.

Lear reported net income of $193 million for the quarter, compared with $165 million in the same period of 2025, and raised the midpoint of its full-year 2026 financial outlook.
