Retail group Frasers invests in Burberry
Retail group Frasers has acquired a 4% stake in leathergoods brand Burberry.
The group already has a 37% stake in another UK-based leathergoods brand, Mulberry.
In 2024, it made attempts to acquire full ownership of Mulberry, but without success.
Its investment in Burberry coincides with a bid by Frasers Group to buy control of Hugo Boss, in which it has already built up a 30% share.
Commenting on this, the Financial Times said Frasers was “striving to establish itself in the luxury market”.
