Leather Conversation Centre hosts training course

Leather education specialist Christine Anscombe has delivered a two-day course with the UK’s Leather Conservation Centre in Leicester, teaching people from different parts of the country about leather and how to work with it.

The Leather Conservation Centre opened in 1978 to provide a service of preserving and repairing leather for museums, collectors and others. It was based in Northampton until 2025, when it moved to a new workshop in Leicester.

Dr Anscombe said at the end of the course that participants had been enthusiastic and engaged. She added that working with the group had left her feeling energised. She also said she was pleased that the participants also gained a great deal from meeting each other and exchanging knowledge and experience.
