Academic partnership for LVMH
Luxury group LVMH has partnered with the French Fashion Institute (IFM) to create a new academic position at the institute, chair of science and design.
They said their new academic partnership aimed to develop “new knowledge of creative processes”, enrich IFM’s teaching programmes and strengthen the links between research, talent and the LVMH group.
The partnership will work to produce original empirical data on the practices of designers. It will examine “the mechanisms of creativity”, integrating issues related to technological innovation.
IFM president, Sidney Toledano, a former senior executive at LVMH, said the partnership would help the creative industries prepare for the future “while remaining true to what makes them unique”.
