France: hides and skins exports down by 13%
Figures for the January-April period show that France exported raw hides and skins with a value of €59.7 million. This represents a fall of 13% compared to the same months last year. The figures come from Alliance France Cuir.
Adult bovine hides contributed €40.3 million, while the total for exports of raw calfskins was €9.7 million, falls of 9% and 31% respectively.
Shipments of sheepskins brought in €3.5 million, which was down by 35% compared to the first four months of 2025.
Only exotic skins showed an increase, bringing in €4.9 million, which is up by 17% year on year.
