Soft touch of deer leather holds summer appeal for Artioli
High-end footwear brand Artioli has used deer leather to create a new version of its penny loafer for its most recent collection, giving the shoe the name Viareggio.
The Lombardy-based brand has said it believes “the exceptional softness” of deer leather, combined with a lightweight natural flat rubber sole, will offer wearers of the Viareggio “a feeling of effortless comfort and freedom”.
It said the contrast between the deep black of the deer leather and the tones of a garden in summer would work well. “Every line is designed with precision, every detail shaped by Italian artisanal craftsmanship,” it added.
Artioli said the Viareggio embodied the concept of footwear Made in Italy, with “innovation, exceptional materials and timeless sophistication coming together in perfect balance”.
On buying the shoes, customers also have the option of ordering a matching belt made from the same deer leather.
