John Lobb confirms new Northampton manufacture

British luxury shoemaker John Lobb has announced plans to build a new manufacture in Northampton, England, reaffirming its commitment to the region's shoemaking heritage.

The luxury footwear company, which is part of the Hermès group, said it will relocate from its current historic workshop to a new site in Northampton city centre. Construction is expected to be completed in 2029.

According to the company, the investment will secure its future in a region known for shoemaking expertise and skilled craftsmanship. The new facility will be designed in line with Hermès' environmental objectives, with a focus on energy efficiency, operational performance and improved working conditions.

John Lobb said the manufacture will draw on architectural and operational standards developed across Hermès' manufacturing network, creating an environment that supports craftsmanship, innovation and skills transfer.
