Ongoing China ‘lockout’ affects US beef exports

11/05/2026

New data from the US Department of Agriculture show that the US exported 275,355 tonnes of beef in the first quarter of the year, bringing in revenues of $2.3 billion.

These figures represent a fall of 11% in volume and of 7% in value.

The US Meat Export Federation said lower results this year were largely because of the “ongoing lockout by China”.
